Igor Prokopets, born in Minsk, grew up in Tel Aviv and has lived in Berlin since 2000.
He completed his main studies at the HfM “Hanns Eisler” in the class of Prof. Barbara Sanderling. This was followed by a concert examination at the UdK Berlin with Prof. Michael B. Wolf, which he completed with distinction. Regular solo and chamber music performances take him all over the world. Mr. Prokopets gained his most important orchestral experience, among others, with the
Konzerthausorchester Berlin, RSB, Munich Philharmonic, Ensemble Modern with, among others, Valery Gergiev, Ivan Fisher, Daniel Barenboim, Sir Simon Rattle, Christoph Eschenbach.
Since 2007 he has been a permanent member of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Since then he has taught, among other things, orchestral audition preparation, chamber music and
solo repertoire. Since 2012 he has been a lecturer and mentor at the Kurt Sanderling Orchestra Academy of the Konzerthaus Berlin.
Since 2019, co-founder and permanent guest professor of the Mecklenburg Castle Academy. Mr. Prokopets regularly gives master classes in Japan, China, Canada, etc.
Since April 2021 he has been a lecturer in double bass at the Anton Rubinstein International Music Academy and at the Beethoven Conservatory.
