Alexander Prushinskiy was born in 1981 in Novosibirsk (Russia) into a family of musicians. He has been taking music lessons (violin and piano) since the age of 6 and received his musical education at the Novosibirsk Music School from 1987 to 1999 with Prof. Liberman and Prof. Gvozdev (David Oistrakh’s class). In 1998 he continued his studies at the Magnitogorsk Music Academy with Prof. Gvozdev and Prof. Glazunov. In 1999 he graduated from the Magnitogorsk Academy of Music. In the same year he was awarded a scholarship for postgraduate master’s studies at the famous ‘Escuela de la Musica Reina Sofia’ in Madrid to study with Prof. Zakhar Bron. 2001 Studies at the Cologne University of Music with Prof. Zakhar Bron, Diploma in Artistic Instrumental Training 2008
Alexander Prushinskiy has been 1st concertmaster of the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra since the 2009 season. Since the 2011 season – 1st concertmaster of the Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra. Alexander Prushinskiy has won prizes at several national competitions and has also received scholarships from the following foundations: ‘Young Talents of Siberia’, ‘The New Names’, ‘Moscow Newspaper Publishing Foundation’ and the Novosibirsk City Foundation.
Numerous concert appearances with various orchestras have taken him to the famous concert halls of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Madrid, Barcelona, Athens, Sao Paulo, Zurich, Miami, Tokyo, Berlin and Munich.
His teacher Zakhar Bron was a decisive factor in his musical development. Alexander Prushinskiy performed with Yuri Bashmet and Gidon Kremer as part of the Kronberg Academy. He received further important impulses through masterclasses with Y. Menukhin, I. Perlman, V. Repin, M. Vengerov, D. Schwarzberg, M. Rostropovitch, R. Masters, A. Katz, V. Spivakov and H. Krebbers.
