International Anton Rubinstein Competition 2023 - WOODWIND - FLUTE

Ayane MIYAKAWA is a Japanese flutist. In 2018, she graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts with a Bachelor of Music. She then went to Germany to study flute at the Hamburg Conservatory. After returning to Japan, she was hired as principal flutist of the Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Orchestra and participated in concerts and operas. In 2022, she was selected as the soloist for the Gunma Baroque Orchestra Concert, where she performed Carl Phillipe Emmanuel Bach’s Flute Concerto to great acclaim. She currently plays as a professional flutist with the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, and other Japanese orchestras. She is also a flute instructor at Aoba Institute of the Arts in Gunma.

Born in October 2000, she began studying flute at the age of 11.
In 2015 she was admitted into the class of M° C. Montafia, at the Conservatorio ‘C. Pollini’ in Padua, where she brilliantly passed the exam to move on to the three-year academic course.
For two years she was a full member and from 2016/17 1 flute of the Youth Orchestra “I Polli (ci) ni del Conservatorio di Padova; with this orchestra she performed in prestigious contexts such as the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza and was conducted by Maestro Claudio Scimone.
2016: from April to June, she won first prize at the “8th International Competition of Young Musicians – City of Treviso”, first prize overall at the “1st National Competition for Music Schools” in Verona and first prize at the “20th International Competition for Young Instrumentalists” in Povoletto (Ud).
As part of the Campus of Arts, held in Bassano del Grappa, she was selected as the winner of three concerts.
She won a scholarship offered by the LIONS club.
2017: with chamber music ensemble, she won 1st prize overall for the chamber music section at the 2nd National Competition “Scuole in musica” in Verona; in May 2017 she won 1st prize overall (100/100) as soloist at the “17th International Competition of Musica Insieme” in Asti.
As a quartet, he has given several concerts at important music festivals

2018: played in many concert festivals as soloist, participated in a competition organised by the Conservatory of Padua and was awarded an important scholarship. As a flute soloist, she performed Mozart’s concerto K.314 at the Fenice Theatre and at the Auditorium “del Conservatorio Pollini” in Padua.
She was selected to participate as a full member in two masterclasses by Maestro James Galway; also after selection she was admitted to the Galway flute festival in July 2018 and spent 10 days in Switzerland participating as a full member in the great Maestro’s lessons.
2019: obtains her high school diploma at the Liceo Musicale Marchesi in Padua; performs in numerous prestigious contexts in duo with a guitar. She participates and is selected for the OGI and for the EUYO final.
In November she completed her three-year academic course at the Conservatorio “C. Pollini ” in Padua.
2020/21: attends a year of advanced training in Piccolo with Maestro Nicola Mazzanti, graduating in June

In September 2021 she is admitted to the Stuttgart Hochschule in M° Davide Formisano’s class.

During her stay in Germany (2021-2023) she performs with numerous German orchestras and participates in various projects both as a soloist and as chamber music2022: in November he graduates from the “Accademia di Alto perfezionamento “ in Biella (M° Davide Formisano)
2023: In June this year he obtains his Master’s degree in transverse flute at the Stuttgart Hochschule (M° Formisano)

Noy Beck is a flute player, born in Israel in 1998 . She holds a bachelor’s degree from the Jerusalem Academy of Music. Among her teachers are Professor Dejan Gavric, Guy Eshed, Professor Yossi Arnheim, and Marta Mccave Dayan. Noy has participated in master classes of Andrea oliva, Felix Renggli, Philippe Bernold, Christina Fassbender, Michael martin Kofler, Andrea Lieberknecht, Davide Formisano, Eyal Ein-Habar, and Noam Buchman . She is a recipient of international scholarships such as AICF, DAAD and the Liechtenstein music academy scholarship.Noy has  won numerous music competitions. She was awarded the Audience Choice in the woodwind division at the “Aviv Competitions” organized by AICF ,  the “Yechiam-Peled” prize given by the Buchman-Metha school and the Israeli Musicians’ union. In 2019, she won the “Concerto Competition” and the “ Woodwind and Brass Competition” held by the Jerusalem music academy. She is also Prize winner in the international Jenko flute competition in Serbia, and was a semifinalist in the dutch flute competition. Noy was part of the Tlamim Program for excellent musicians in Raanana. In the years 2014-2016, she was a member of the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2020, she has played as a soloist with Jerusalem’s Academy Orchestra. Since 2019, Noy has been regularly invited to perform as guest principal flutist in orchestras such as Ashdod symphony , Raanana sinfonietta, Ramat gan camerata and also played in ensembles of the Jerusalem symphony.

Flautist Chaeyoung Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea. She started to learning and majoring in flute with Uikyung Park and Unji Chung and she graduated from Sunhwa Arts High School in Korea. Chaeyoung received her Bachelor’s degree in Flute performance from the Royal College of Music in London, studying with Sue Thomas, Katie Bedford, Susan Milan and Kathleen Stevenson. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in London, she is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Flute performance from Mannes School of Music at The New School’s College of Performing Arts in New York, studying with Judith Mendenhall.

Chaeyoung has won numerous international competitions including the London Young Musician Competition (London, UK) as a Gold Prize winner, the International Music Competition ‘Bonn’ Grand Prize Virtuoso (Bonn, Germany) as a 1st Prize winner, the King’s Peak International Competition (California, USA) as a 1st Prize winner, the New York Virtuoso International Competition as a 1st Prize winner, and the Vienna New Year’s Concert International Music Competition (Vienna, Austria) receiving an Honorable Mention. She has also won top prizes at various competitions in Korea, including the Seoul Art Competition as a Grand Prize winner for the whole woodwind instruments, the Haneum Music Competition and Seoul Music Competition.

Chaeyoung has participated in masterclasses with prominent flautists including Mathieu Dufour, Karl Heinz Schutz, Gareth Davies, Julien Beaudiment, Michel Moragues, Sandrine Tilly, Sandrine Francois, Claude Lefebvre, Jose-Daniel Castellon, Henrik Wiese, Raffaele Trevisani, Jonathan Keeble and Hideaki Sakai.
