Preparatory year for the Bachelor’s or for the Master’s programme

Target group: Musicians who want to optimally prepare for their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program.
Duration of the respective program: 12 months
Location: Düsseldorf / Berlin
- Intensive major lessons
- Music theory lessons
- Piano as subsidiary subject ( optional)
- Final examination as entrance examination for "Bachelor of Music" possible

Orchestra training – preparatory semester for auditions
Target group: Musicians who want to prepare specifically for orchestral auditions.
Duration of the program: 6 months
Location: Düsseldorf / Berlin

The Academy Diploma programme is characterised by a high degree of individuality, offering opportunities for a tailor-made curriculum. This could be, for example, a comprehensive artistic education, postgraduate studies or bespoke specialisations. The focus, however, will unfailingly be on the main instrument/subject.

The Postgraduate Certificate Program is for advanced students and graduates already holding other degrees. This 2 year program prepares students for their career, focusing on concerts and competitions, and is completed with a Concert Soiree

In cooperation with the state-recognised music academies Giacomo Puccini Conservatorio La Spezia/Italy, Conservatorio Peter Tchaikovsky in Catanzaro/Italy, Beethoven Conservatorium Tegelen/Netherlands, the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein offers study programmes leading to Bachelor of Music and Bachelor level degrees.

Exceptionally talented young artists may be given the opportunity to take their Concert Exam (Konzertexamen), after further postgraduate studies.Für außergewöhnlich begabte junge Musiker, die ihr Studium schon absolviert haben, besteht die Möglichkeit des Ausbildungsganges Konzertexamen.

Our Artist Diploma programme offers individual preparation for the artistic demands of a concert career – complementing or extending the usual Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses. The focus is on the main subject, the lessons aiming at the highest technical and interpretative standards. The students will also obtain a comprehensive knowledge of the relevant repertoire for their instrument.

Advanced modules – additionally bookable
The in-depth modules are intended for students who wish to expand their competencies beyond the classes prescribed in the curriculum. The number of hours indicated is per semester.

IMAR’s highly motivated professors and lecturers have extensive pedagogical experience and a strong passion for teaching. They look forward to welcoming children and young people for whom playing music is not just a skill, but an integral part of their lives. Some of these students may harbour the desire to make music their profession one day.
