Biography 

Fabio Romano

ist ein Schüler von Gerhard Oppitz gewesen. Preisträger des Moskauer Internationalen Klavierwettbewerbs „Sviatoslav Richter 2008“, wurde dann in der Zeitschrift FonoForum zum „Nachwuchskünstler des Jahres“ von Tilman Urbach mit den Worten gekürt: „Fabio Romano, der sichgleichzeitig der Neuen Musik und dem klassischen Repertoire widmet. Ernsthaft und eindringlich“.

Die bei WERGO erschienene Solo-CD „Fleurs du mal“ mit Werken von R. Schumann und J. Widmann ist in der Fachpresse begeistert besprochen worden.

Konzertiert hat Fabio Romano u. a. in der Frankfurter Alten Oper, im Seoul Art Center, im Bolschoi Saal des Moskauer Konservatoriums, im Teatro Massimo zu Palermo, im Straßburger Palais Universitaire, in der City Hall von Aberdeen, in dem Münchner Prinzregententheater, an dem Zürcher Theater an der Sihl und in dem Konservatorium von Odessa.

Zahlreiche Produktionen bei Deutschland Radio Berlin, dem Bayerischen Rundfunk, RAI Radio Tre, bei dem russischen Sender Kultura Televidenje & Kultura Radio sowie eine internationale Konzertaktivität gesellen sich in seiner Laufbahn zu einer langjährigen didaktischen Tätigkeit als Hauptamtlicher Dozent für Klavier an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater München.

Biography 

Der in Deutschland wohnhafte, junge bolivianische Pianist wurde bereits mit zahlreichen Preisen nationaler und internationaler Wettbewerbe ausgezeichnet. Er tritt an Veranstaltungsorten und Festivals in Deutschland, Österreich, USA, Chile, Litauen, Italien, Slowenien, Niederlande und natürlich Bolivien auf. Nach dem Eintritt in die Musikuniversität in Weimar erhielt er den 1. Preis in Form eines Stipendiums der Elfrun Gabriel Stiftung.
Bei Wettbewerben wie dem Claudio Arrau internationalen Klavierwettbewerb (Quilpue, Chile), dem Klavierwettbewerb „Abril en Tarija“ (Bolivien), dem La Paz Piano Wettbewerb sowie den ersten Preis beim 5. Internationalen Wettbewerb „Young Academy Award“ in Rom erhielt Jose Preise und Auszeichnungen.
Als Solist spielte er mit Orchestern und Dirigenten wie zum Beispiel dem Jenaer Philharmonie Orchester, Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Orquesta del Encuentro de Jovenes Musicos Bolivianos und der Norddeutschen Philharmonie Rostock unter der Leitung von Andreas Penninger, Markus L. Frank, Wojciech Rajski und anderen. Als Kammermusiker und Mitglied des Silberstein-Trios erhielt er im Rahmen des “Martha Debelli Wettbewerbs” in Graz einen Spezialpreis.

Asuka Tagami, Japan

Special Prize for the best interpretation of a modern work
Biography 

Asuka Tagami wurde 1991 in Japan geboren. Mit drei Jahren erhielt sie ihren ersten Klavierunterricht, ab 1999 bei Seiko Sumi. 2006 nahm sie ihr Studium am Tokyo College of Music High School auf. Nach dem Schulabschluss setzte sie ihre Studien am Tokyo College of Music fort. Seit 2016 absolviert sie einen Master-Studiengang bei Prof. Andreas Groethuysen an der Universität Mozarteum Salzburg. Im Juni 2019 absolvierte sie den Masterstudiengang und seit Herbst 2019 befindet sich im Postgraduate-studiengang. Sie nahm auch am Kammermusik-Unterricht bei Prof. Andreas Groethuysen, Prof. William Coleman und Prof. Masahiro Kawakami teil und besuchte Meisterkurse bei Andrei Pisarev, Stefano Fiuzzi, Florent Boffard und Billy Eidi.

Asuka Tagami ist Preisträgerin von verschiedenen Klavier-Wettbewerben, unter anderem erhielt sie beim 9. Kitamoto Klavierwettbewerb einen 2. Preis, beim 9. Internationalen Musikwettbewerb “Premio Crescendo” 2018 Città di Firenze den 1. Preis, beim 6. Internationalen Klavierwettbewerb “Paolo Zuccotti” Città di Firenze den 1. Preis und beim 16. Internationalen Musikwettbewerb Città di Pesaro den 3. Preis.

Jan Wachowski, Polen

Biography 

Jan Wachowski is twenty one-year-old Polish pianist. Currently he is a third-year student at the Frederic Chopin’s University of Music in Warsaw in the piano faculty with prof. Elżbieta Karaś-Krasztel and simultaneously in the composition faculty with prof. Paweł Łukaszewski.
He attended numerous piano courses including period instruments under the guidence of Tobias Koch, Kevin Kenner, Philip Giusiano, Nikolai Demidenko, Krzysztof Jabłoński, Wojciech Świtała. He has already given many pianistic performances, among others; in Forbidden City Concert Hall (Beijing, China), Belgium, Italy, Germany and in Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin.

 Conditions and FAQ

  1. The International Anton Rubinstein Competition für Piano 2020 is organized by the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein in Düsseldorf and will take place in the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein in Düsseldorf, Germany on April 24th & 25th, 2020.
  2. Pianists of all nationalities and ages may take part in this competition.
  3. The competition will take place in two rounds, from which the Jury will decide the winners.
  4. The first round will be completed via video link on YouTube . The results will be announced via email on March 24th, 2020.
  5. The final will take place in the Concert Hall of the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein, Germany.
  6. The final of competition is open to the public.
  7. A maximum of 16 candidates will be advanced to the Second Round. This decision will be made by the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein, using the recordings from the first round.
  8. The International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein will determine the order in which the competitors perform.
  9. The repertoire for the first round can be freely chosen by the candidate, but must be max. 30 minutes long.
  10. For the final, the candidates must present a program which does not exceed a 30 minute time limit. The repertoire choice for the second round is free, must be performed by memory and may include works from the first round.
  11. In the final, the jury has the right to interrupt any performance that exceeds the 30-minute time limit.
  12. The works, which require a preparation of the grand piano, are excluded from the competition
  13. The final results will be announced on Saturday evening, April 25th, 2020 about 7:30 pm.
  14. All participants must be present when the competition results are announced.
  15. With their registration, participants authorize the organizer, i.e. the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein, to use all photo, video and audio material of the competition at its discretion.
  16. The decision of the jury is final and incontestable.
  17. With his or her registration, the candidate agrees to the rules and regulations of the competition.
  18. Registration Deadline: March 17th, 2020.
  19. Registration fee: 75€ before February 17th 2020, and 100 € thereafter.
  20. The registration fee is non-refundable.
