PROF. ROSA FAIN- master class for Violin

17. & 18. September 2018, Dusseldorf

Each active participant will get two lessons (each 60 min.) with Prof. Rosa Fain.

By the time Rosa Fain had completed studying violin at David Oistrach in Moscow, she was already a first prize winner in many famous violin competitions. After her victory at the 3rd Wieniawsky Violin Competition in Poland, Rosa has become the international sought-after soloist and soon belonged to the elite of violin interpreters.

She has held concerts in the former Soviet Union, the U.S.A., Asia and most countries in Europe. She has appeared as a guest star with several large orchestras, including Moscow, Leningrad, New York and Pittsburg Philharmonic Orchestras, the  Concergebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam and many more.

Rosa Fain has peformed  in both East and West Germany, working with Leipzig  Gewandhaus-Orchestra, the Berlin and Dresden Philharmonic Orchestras, NDR Symphony Orchestra from Hamburg and BR from München.

Kurt Masur, Kirill Kondrashin, Dmitrij Kitajenko, Günter Wand,Yehudi Menuhin, John Pritchard, Vaclav Neumann are just some of  the many conductors she has worked under. Numerous TV, radio and record recordings of Rosa’s work have been created in the former  Soviet Union, Japan, U.S.A., Germany, France, Spain. Some of which have David Oistrach as a conductor.

In addition to her numerous performances and accomlpishments, Professor Fain  has been leading the Master class since 1980 at the Robert Schumann School of  music in Düsseldorf, Germany and has been giving Master classes in many other  countries around the world, including the U.S.A., Germany, South Korea, Italy,  Belgium, Austria, Bulgaria, Spain.

She is an active jury member in many contests such as ARD München, Hannover  International Joseph Joachim Violin Competition, International Leopold Mozart  Competition in Augsburg, deutscher Musikrat and Pancho Vladigerov International  Competition in Shumen.

Her graduates have gone on to be winners of different competitions, concert violinists but the majority have become orchestra musicians in such countries as   Germany, Holland, Japan, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, South Korea, many of them  as concertmasters.
