This competition is intended to support the professional development of young pianists by means of concerts and the media presence involved. Applicants may still be studying for a bachelor degree in piano music or may already have a bachelor degree (if it was obtained within the year prior to the competition).
In connection with the competition in 2016 the following prizes are awarded:
- Three solo recitals in the concert series organised by the Internationale Musikakademie Anton Rubinstein
- A scholarship for obtaining a master degree at the Internationale Musikakademie Anton Rubinstein/Conservatorio di Musica “Giacomo Puccini” in La Spezia.
Entry Conditions:
- The International Bachelor Piano Award 2016 is organised by the Internationale Musikakademie Anton Rubinstein in Düsseldorf and takes place in the academy’s premises on 15 and 16 April 2016.
- The competition is open to the public.
- The Internationale Musikakademie Anton Rubinstein decides about the order of the candidates’ auditions.
- Students of all nationalities may take part in this competition. Participants may either still be studying for a bachelor degree in piano music or may already have a bachelor degree (obtained within the year prior to the competition). Participants studying for a master degree are not admitted.
- The registration fee is 50 € and will not be reimbursed, even if the candidate fails to appear.
- The candidates have to present a programme of 30 minutes.
- There will only be one round after which the jury decides about the winners.
- Candidates may play a repertoire of their own choice and which has to be presented by heart.
- Altogether 25 candidates will be admitted to the competition. If the academy gets more applications, the participants will be drawn by lot.
- All participants are obliged to attend when the competition’s results are announced.
- With their registration participants authorize the organiser, i.e. the academy, to use all photo, video and audio material of the competition at its discretion.
- The jury’s decision is incontestable.
- The jury reserves the right to interrupt the presentation if candidates exceed the thirty-minute time limit.
- The winners are obliged to perform in the awarded concerts on the terms of the competition’s regulations and according to the arrangements made by the Internationale Musikakademie Anton Rubinstein.
- With their registration the candidates give their approval to the competition’s regulations.
- Deadline for registration is 2 March 2015.
