Prof. Dr. Li Jia graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and studied in the piano master class at the St. Petersburg Conservatory of Music of the Ministry of Culture of Russia with Prof. Oleg Vainstein and Prof. Olga Saigushkina, internationally renowned concert pianists and outstanding representatives of the Russian School of Piano. He holds a Master of Music in Classical Piano Performance, a Master of Arts in Jazz Piano Performance, a Doctor of Philosophy in Art, and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Music.

Prof. Dr. Li Jia currently serves in the following academic roles: President of the World Piano Teaching Association Shanxi Province, Expert of the Chinese Ministry of Education’s Degree and Graduate Education Development Center for Music Program Review, Professor in Piano Performance, Master’s Degree Supervisor/Discipline Leader of the Piano Department of the Conservatory of Music, Shanxi Normal University. He is also the President of the China-Switzerland Music and Art Exchange Association (CSMAEA), Special Fellow at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences-KITLV, Netherlands, Professor of Musicology at Thonburi University in Bangkok, Thailand, Visiting Professor at the National University of Culture and Arts in Mongolia, Academic Advisor at Seohan University in Korea, Professor and Doctoral Candidate Supervisor in Musicology at the University of Christine in the Philippines, Signed Artist of China Orchestra Network (pianist and composer), Distinguished Professor at Nanyang Polytechnic Institute, Visiting Professor at Ganzhou Normal Higher and Specialized College, Special Professor at Jiangxi Institute of Environmental Engineering, Researcher at Beijing Minghua Piano Art Research Institute, Visiting Scholar at Glinka Conservatory of Music in Russia, Member of the Art Education Expert Committee of the Chinese Children’s Culture and Art Promotion Association, and Member of the Shanxi Performing Arts Association, China.

Prof. Dr. Li Jia has won awards in more than 70 major international piano and composition competitions, including the first prize at the Lisbon International Festival Piano Competition in Portugal, the first prize at the 28th International Piano Competition in Bonn, Germany, the first prize at the International Piano Competition in St. Petersburg, and the second prize in the professional division of the 9th Sibelius International Composition Competition in Finland. As a renowned scholar, he also serves as editor-in-chief/editorial board member of more than 20 international music and art journals, and as a reviewer for SCI/SSCI/AHCI/SCOPUS of Elsevier’s renowned music journals. His 189 research papers have been published in the “Asian-European Music Research Journal” and other international professional art journals. He is editor-in-chief for the International Journal of Music Research, American Journal of Music Research, American Journal of Art and Design, International Journal of Literature and Arts, International Journal of Cultural Studies, etc. He is also a famous reviewer for SSCI/SSCI journals such as Clinical Psychology & Psychiatry, Sports Medicine, Heliyon, International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction, HTS Teologiese Studies, etc.

Prof. Dr. Li Jia has completed 3 national state-funded research projects, 3 provincial state-funded research projects, and 3 university-level research projects. Dr. Li has published a monograph on Chopin with China Youth Publishing House, 4 albums of solo audiophile piano recitals, 2 volumes of solo piano compositions for the new century invited by Shanghai Music Publishing House, and has been the spokesman for Shanghai Piano Company’s Kalman series of pianos. He has served as a judge for the grand finals of many piano competitions, including the Macao International Music Festival Piano Competition, Breeze Changlong International Piano Competition, and others.

As an international pianist, Prof. Dr. Li Jia has been invited to perform in China, Germany, the USA, Ukraine, Hungary, Greece, Lithuania, as well as at the S. Marta Chiesa Festival in Verbania, Italy, Montella Festival Di Musica, Naxos Piano Festival in Sicily, Giorgio Gaber Concert Hall in Milan, and Napoli Nova Piano Festival. He has performed at the Montella Festival Di Musica, Naxos Piano Festival in Sicily, Giorgio Gaber Concert Hall in Milan, and Napoli Nova Piano Festival, and was highly praised by Chinese and foreign music colleagues and music lovers. He has also performed at Shaoxing College of Arts and Sciences, Nanyang Polytechnic Institute, Beijing Modern Music Academy, Shanxi University, Ganzhou Normal University, Ganzhou Normal Higher and Specialized School, Liupanshui Normal College, Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Inner Mongolia Academy of Arts, Baotou Normal College, Hohhot Vocational College, Aba Teachers College, and other famous colleges and universities for master classes.
