The passionate playing style of the young Italian pianist Gabriele Leporatti, full of aesthetic sensibility and depth, shows the influence of his teachers Maria Tipo and Fabio Bidini. Gabriele graduated “summa cum laude” from the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence when aged only nineteen, before moving on to further study in the USA and Germany. He had success in international competitions such as the “Città di Pinerolo” and the Bremen piano competition, followed by a “Dorothy McKenzie Award” in New York.

Extensive concert tours have taken him to Spain, several times to the USA, to Germany,  Austria, Switzerland, Estonia, Poland, South Africa, Turkey and China, and to prestigious concert venues including London’s Wigmore Hall, the broadcasting house of NDR Hannover, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and the He Luiting Hall in Shanghai.

Gabriele Leporatti is also a popular participant in chamber music, performing with musicians such as the Trio Suleika, Eva Mei and Fabio Bidini, and soloists from the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker.

Two CDs with Gabriele Leporatti have appeared to date, one of which features works for piano four hands (with Fabio Bidini), the other a solo recording of  pieces by Brahms. Several of his performances have also been broadcast on radio (including Radio SAFm South Africa, RBB Kulturrradio, Radio 4 (Netherlands) and the Italian Rai3).  In november 2015 his new solo album with works of Schumann and Respighi will be released for Etera.

Gabriele Leporatti lives at present in Germany and is a much valued teacher who gives regular master-classes all over the world, e.g. at the “International Keyboard Institute and Festival” at the Mannes College of Music in New York. In addition he is active as an artistic director and advisor at concert series and festivals and a regular jury member at international competitions. Since 2012 he has taught piano at the International Anton Rubinstein Academy in Düsseldorf.
